I put this personally on the design team who don't know how to play the game and never got involved with the organised multiplayer scene (whilst it still existed). Not only are all the new DLCs low-quality, they are only being released once a year now. I understand that there needs to be a middle ground between Panzer General and Civilization, and focused just on WW2, but the overall development of HOI4 has become really lazy. HOI4 is a worse product now than it was at patch 1.4.2. The only single worthwhile upgrade to the game since DoD has been the performance upgrade, which was engineered by a community member and then officially integrated! More micromanagement in every single aspect of the game HOI4 has gone down the lowest common denominator route for new content: People are looking at these 'huge' new trees full of dumb or irrelevant focii and thinking that that makes good design and gameplay - it doesn't. The older DLC trees were much tighter in terms of design and had simply fewer individual focuses. They artifically raise the "value" by content locking behind DLC. Im not a huge fan of the balkan trees, however I dunno. Originally posted by Sovietball:Well, in my opinion I find many of the older ones quite bad.
